Class Types

De-mystified Yoga – Classes have a health & fitness focus, leaving out the more traditional or mystical elements of yoga. For example, YogaXoga classes do not include chanting, incense, or mystical images or texts. Instead, we focus on quieting our minds and strengthening our bodies to relieve stress and improve our health. YogaXoga classes include the physical components of several hatha yoga styles in a comfortable & safe environment. All fitness levels are welcome and students are given various options to tailor the class to their needs.

Christ-centered Yoga – Ever been too distracted to pray or fully take in a devotion or bible study? Christ-centered yoga provides a way for us to clear out the busyness of our life so that we can put our focus on Christ – worshipping Him in body, mind and spirit. In a Christ-centered yoga class, students improve their physical health and quiet the busyness of their minds so that they can be still and tune into God’s voice. Classes align all of the health & fitness components of a De-mystified Yoga class with Christian scripture and devotions. A different theme is chosen each week (e.g., Peace, Hope, Waiting for the Lord), and related verses are interwoven into the class. Classes end with a longer passage or devotion for students to reflect on during relaxation.

All classes include:

  • Warm-up: Breathing & gentle movement
  • Work: Standing poses to build strength & balance
  • Cool-down: Deeper stretches & relaxation

All classes are one hour in length, unless otherwise requested for an event or corporate class. Mats and other props are provided. Students should wear comfortable clothing and avoid a full meal 2 hours prior to class.
